My refrigerator will not run

Is the control turned to the on position? Is the refrigerator plugged in? Do you have electricity to the outlet?

My refrigerator runs too much

New refrigerators are designed to run longer to keep a more even temperature. They are designed to run approximately 45-50 minutes out of every 60 minutes on a 70 - degree day. Are you or your family in and out of the refrigerator very often? This will also increase run time. Is there anything blocking the door open?

My refrigerator has an odor in it

Odor-producing foods should be covered and wrapped.

I have moisture on the inside walls and shelves

This is a normal condition in hot and humid weather and it will increase the more you are in and out of your refrigerator.

My refrigerator sweats between the doors

Is your humidity switch turned on?

My light doesn't come on

Is there power at the outlet? Did you check the light bulb?

I have a sizzling sound in my freezer

This is a normal sound caused by water dripping on a heating element during the defrost cycle.

I see an orange glow through the vents in my freezer

You are seeing the heating element glow during the defrost cycle.

My washer will not fill with water

Is the washer plugged in and is there power at the outlet? Is the timer knob set to the proper cycle and is the timer knob pulled out? If your washer has buttons, are they fully depressed? Is the lid closed? On some models, the lid must be closed to operate. Your browser may not support display of this image.

My washer will not agitate

Please check to make sure the washer is plugged in and there is power. Is the timer knob set to the right position or, if equipped with buttons, are they fully depressed? Is the lid closed?

My washer will not spin

Please check to make sure the washer is plugged in and there is power. Is the lid closed? Is the timer knob set to the proper position and is the timer knob pulled out? Is your drain hose kinked? Is there anything caught on the top of the tub causing it to not spin?

My washer stops during the spin cycle

Some washers have an out-of-balance load switch. If the clothes get bunched together, it will stop the washer. If you lift the lid and redistribute the clothes, it should spin properly. Please make sure the washer is still plugged in and there is power.

My washer fills with the wrong temperature of water

Check to see if the hoses are reversed. Are the faucets turned on?

My dryer does not run

Is the dryer door shut? Is the dryer plugged in and the breaker turned on? Check the circuit breaker and fuses. Your browser may not support display of this image.

My dryer does not heat

Check the circuit breaker and fuses. Make sure you have the timer on a heat setting and not air-fluff. Is the lint filter cleaned out? The filter should be cleaned after each use. Is the vent clear and open? Turn the dryer on and go outside. Put your hand by the vent hood. You should have a lot of air blowing out.

My dishwasher will not fill

Is the door securely shut and is the timer in the proper position? Is the water turned on? Is there electricity to the dishwasher?

My dishwasher will not drain

If it is hooked up through a disposal, is the knockout plug out of the disposal or is there any food blocking the drain through the disposal? (This is for new installations only.) Check to see if the drain hose has a kink in it. Do you have electricity to the dishwasher?

My dishwasher has an odor in it

If draining through a disposal, is the drain hose mounted up higher than the disposal to stop garbage from entering the dishwasher, producing an odor? Many new dishwashers have a new smell to them which will go away in time.

Part or all of your range does not work

Is the range plug loose or disconnected from the electrical outlet? (If not wired direct such as a wall oven.) Did you check the circuit breaker to see if it's on? Is the gas turned on to your oven?

My surface elements do not work

Is the electricity turned on or plugged in? Is the gas turned on to your range?

My oven light does not come on

Did you check the electricity to the appliance? Did you try replacing the bulb?

I get an "F" code when turning the oven on

This is a default code indicating a problem somewhere in the range. Press the cancel pad. If it comes right back and beeps, disconnect power to the range and schedule service.
