MODERN CLASSICS – Black and White

Associated with power and authority, black is sleek and sophisticated, and is the color of drama. In small quantities it stimulates, but large amounts can be oppressive. Black enlivens other colors, making them pop, and works well as an accent in frames for art, on lamp bases and in other accessories.

White: Open, Clean, Light

White symbolizes purity, innocence and cleanliness, and lowers the pulse rate and blood pressure. White clarifies, opens up a space and works beautifully with every color. All-white rooms, however, can be unsettling and uncomfortable, so white works best in combination with other colors, in areas of counterpoint or quiet. Good rooms for white are bedrooms, bathrooms and entryways.
